This little image of two swimming Kohaku Koi Fish was painted for a local coaster competition which earned me a small prize.

I appreciate the symbolic importance of the Koi in Japanese culture and wanted to explore this further in a Pond series. In Japanese culture the Koi are universally symbolic of bravery, strength, perseverance, love and dedication.
